Sunny Ocean City
Apology accepted. The reason I said that is because; I am now apologizing for not having the site updated. I have been really busy at work. Moving from one job to the next. It is so crazy. I dont really have a computer, a desk, or a phone. I just kinda wander from borrowed comp to borrowed comp back to my old workstation to help out my replacement. On top of all that, we are doing template updates and starting a new month. all this equals yippie so, ill say it again, Apology accepted. Thanks for saying your sorry about my situation:)
This past weekend, Pete's grandfather let us checkout his condo one last weekend until it was rented out for the entire summer. I was so looking forward to sitting on the beach for three days straight. Mother Nature had a different story. we only were able to spend Saturday on the beach. Either way, i'd like to say a big thank you to Pete's Grandfather. He has been very kind.
Friday night, I met Pete and Heidi at my house in Annapolis. We drove down to 122nd street in Ocean City, MD starting at about 10pm. We saw no traffic, and the drive was easy. What a difference a few hours makes. I couldn't imagine the drive at 6pm on Friday, but I didn't have to. Our drive back Monday was horrible.
Friday, we crashed out anticipating a good beach say on Saturday. We got it. We woke up around 10, stopped by Wawa for reading material, and found a good spot on the beach. Our crew consisted of Pete, Heidi, Scott, Joanne, Danny, and myself. I mention crew because; I saw "You Got Served" this weekend. Along with the, "You Got Served" South Park (see episode Episode 805). The movie was stupid with some good dancing, but the South Park episode was awesome. I saw the south park with the OC kids, and the movie with Denby and Jason. All weekend, we kept on saying, "you just got 'x' served" when something didn't go our way. Just now, J was like, "whats up with your site?" I said, "I haven't updated it in two weeks. I have been busy." He said, "You got served!!!" Yea, I got "Internet Served."
Ok, so Wawa for reading materials. Mad, Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and In Touch. Eclectic mix eh? We camped out at a large open spot on the beach. It was crowded but not that bad. We couldn't ask for better on a Holiday Weekend. Because of all the liquids we were consuming, we had to go to the bathroom. It was pretty sweet that we found a construction site right off Wrights Ave. We also listened to some sweet Essential Mix sets from my cd walkman. Good times on the beach, and I didn't burn!
Later that night we went to Tequila Mockingbird for dinner. That place does an excellent job at preparing mexican food. I bet ill go back there next time I am down in Ocean City. Why not make it three in a row? After the meal, I wanted to go out, but everyone was tired. I started talking some smack about people being married. I probably said some stupid stuff I shouldn't have, but that is what I am known for (so i am told). To all those affected, sorry. I don't think it was a big deal. We went out the next night.
Sunday, we woke up, and breakfast was waiting. Joanne and Heidi did an superb job of cooking up some eggs, scraple, bacon, and Krispy Kremes. It was fantastic. These girls can cook. I almost forgot, the night before, Heidi put together some of her world famous dip. MMMM. It is so good. It was raining/overcast after we finished eating. We decided to head down the boardwalk for some good ol' fun at the beach hon. It was basically Baltimore transplanted. So we decided to get right down to it. We went to the Cork Bar. This place is now my favorite place on earth. There's NASCAR and Beer posters all over the wall. There's always a cold (mug frozen) beer on tap for $1.75, and there are all types of people in there. Mainly, it's locals and those who know. The jukebox was playing mostly country and rock. We snagged a pool table and played teams. After a few games, the rap started to play. The group of 40 year old women next to us started grinding with the 40 year old men. They went buckwild when "Gin n Juice" came on the box. It was about this time, we also noticed the guy asleep across the way on the bar. It was a shame we left, I could have stayed there for-ever. The roller coaster was calling. Thats right - a roller coaster.
That is my new 5 million dollar idea - Put A Roller Coaster In A Bar! As soon as we left the Cork Bar, we went down to Trimper's Rides, got 8 tickets, and went on the Tidal Wave Roller Coaster. It goes up, drops you down, around, cork screw, upside down, and back up, then it repeats it all - backwards. Awesome. Everyone one was psyched. The roller coaster got us pumped up for Secrets. We hopped on the bus for the 40 street ride.
We made sure that this time, everyone was properly dressed. Last time, Pete's shorts were too long. Stupid. This time we got in, and walked to the back. There was some silly cover band. The good thing about Secrets is it's size. The back is really a bunch of tiki bars jutted up against the bay. They even have bimini ring setup back there. A few people were throwing the ring aimlessly. I stepped in and explained what I remebered from the game. I learned how to play a few years back at Dave's. It was funny to see a bunch of dudes placing bets on a game they just learned. Later, Joanne's brother and finance stopped in to say hi. We all mingled and danced until sunset. Everyone was trying to find dates for Danny and I, but I really wasn't in the mood. Kind of rude after the night before. Oh Well, I was looking forward to the sunset. Secrets passed out 3D glasses for the fireworks show! That's right, 3D glasses. This was the best idea ever! I will always try and get a hold with some for future fireworks displays.
It all turns into a blur after that. We danced some more inside, we tried to get into the "club." The staff was hearding people like cattle, and I didn't need that. Not for a stupid beach club. We got a ride back down the beach with Joanne's brother to Tubby's. I ate my face off, and we went home.
Monday, we awoke to clean the condo. Hopefully, we'll get down sometime in September. Ill be making a few pit stops up in Jersey between now and then. Danny graciously drove me back to Annapolis. The normal two hour trip took five and half hours. It was all good. Danny played some great music for me. He dropped some Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Ohio Players, Junkie XL, an some popular Argentine music. He also gave me lots of advice from his South American travels. His mom is from Argentina, and he spent about a month there and a week in Rio. I can't wait to get down there. Anyway, thanks for the ride Danny.
Once I was back in Annapolis, I really didn't feel like going home. I stopped by Denby and Jason's. We ordered some food, and watched the afore mentioned "You Got Served." I made it home in time to sleep. I really do not do much of that anymore. I can't sleep much past the time the sun comes up. It really gets so light in my room in Silver Spring. I can't wait to leave, and make a room my own. Now that I wrote so much after so little, its time to get whatever sleep I can.
