We Made A Wrong Turn
On Friday, I ran around with my head cut off after work. I was getting ready for my first trip to the Jersey Shore in 2004. I was lucky that my boss let me go from work at 4pm. I didn't have to pick up Gina till around 630pm. Still, the errands wouldn't stop.
First, I had to go back to my house to pack. Next, I went to the store for some toiletries. I had to swing by the station for some gas. Once at home, I tried to put in my contacts. The new contact solution irritated my eyes to no end. I had to run back to the store for a new bottle. Finally, I mapquested out the trip and ran over to Gina's.
She was ready on time, and we were on the road by 640pm. We had planned to make a few stops. Once for dinner at Chick-fil-A. Second for foul weather gear at my parents. I was headed to the shore for the 2nd Annual Booze Cruise, but Hurricane Charley looked like he might have different plans. These side trips didn't add much time on to the ride, our wrong turns did. We went up 295 north instead of the Jersey Turnpike. Then we just went east looking for 40. We found it, but then we went to far down 55. We were having to much fun talking, and we weren't even drinking!!! Oh well, we pulled into the "Isle" around 10pm.
First thing I did was say a big big hello to everyone. I had not seen anyone from Philly in over a month. Rob, Mark, Jeff, Coupe, Anna, Heather, and others were hanging around. Actually, not all of those people were at the house upon our arrival. Everyone did arrive shortly there after us. From here we preceded to get wasted. Yes it is sad. We don't get together for awhile, and it all goes to crap.
After making sure every ounce of alcohol was out of the girls place, we went to the OD. I guess we had full intention of going there first, but on the way we stopped by the Pour House. I'm glad we made a pit stop. Campbell and Seaver were there, and I got to mix up their names. It was a good time. I have not seen them since homecoming. After some Jager we continued on to the OD. We heard some crappy music. Some people did some silly things. Who knows. Somehow I ended up at a pizza place south of Gina's house.
I assume we had a night cap, but I couldn't tell you. Graciously, Anna let me share her bed. I even brought an air mattress!!! Guess I am lucky. I did try and help Rob or Jeff fill up the air mattress. In the end, they couldn't figure it out all the way. No matter, everyone found a place to sleep around the condo.
