Kandice And Craig Where Here
I worked from home today for two reasons. First, I had a doctor's appointment here in Annapolis. Second, my cousin Kandice and her boyfriend Craig where coming to town. They have been in D.C. all week sight seeing. I was easily able to convince them to visit Annapolis.
Jocelyn showed them around town why I was still working. They saw downtown and a few other cool sights. They stopped by my house soon after 5pm. I gave them the grand tour, and they approved. Kandice was suprise with the color of my room. "Yes, I can sleep in there." I found out she has the same laundry hamper. Great minds think alike.
We relaxed in the basement for about an hour. Craig and I talked a lot about soccer. He is a member of the Chicago Celtic supporters club. He has been following international soccer for a long time. He might even tag along for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
We went to dinner at Cantlers around 7pm. Both Craig and Kandice really wanted to eat some crabs. Cantlers is the perfect place. It is off the beaten path, on the water, and has amazing food. We sat down and promptly ordered a bucket of Corona, Crab Dip, Cream of Crab Soup, and two dozen Steam Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs. I am getting hungry just typing about it.
Just as I anticiapted, they loved every second of it. Craig quickly learned how to pick a crab, and didn't need any help after one or two. We talked about family and friends. It sounds like Kandice is excited to finish up school, but the last part of senior year will be tuff. We planned to make a trip out to Chi-town for her graduation. They also were enjoying the Nation's Capital. Aunt Milly has been the perfect tour guide. I wish I could have walked with them, but work keeps on asking me to come in ever day.
After our meal, we walked down to the crab sorting area. It is right down on the water, and a neat sight for all to see. I showed them the different types and sizes: soft, female, small, and large. I almost put my head into a spydier web. There were so many down there! We escaped the spyder's and left Cantlers for downtown.
Jocelyn was unable to accompy us because; she is only 18. She'll be able to join us in a few years. I took them to Armadillo's for the Jar Flys. I had not been able to catch a set of theirs since I moved to Annapolis. They played as well as I remembered. I introduced them both to Yuengling, and we had a fantastic time.
We made it back to my house kind of earlier. I did have to go to work the next day. The offically were the first to sleep in our new guest room! The morning after, they told me the bed is comfortable. That is good to know for any future guests. I was so happy they had a chance to make it out to Annapolis. I was dissappointed they couldn't have planned the trip sooner. They only decided to come east last month. I was already headed out of town for the rest of weekend. We made the best with a small amount of time.
