A Pre-Homecoming Party

La Salle University planed their 2004 Homecoming for this weekend. I had a fun time last year so, I decided to make the trip to Philadelphia. All activities planned by the school were to take place on Saturday. I left DC a little early from work on Friday. There isn't any reason to just drive up for one day. We did not have any plans for Friday night, but a cool thing feel into our lap.

I arrived on Fowler Street around 630pm. The drive was really long. It rained really hard in Maryland, and the traffic didn't let up from the Harbor Tunnel to Philadelphia. I was tired. Rob, Mark, and I sat in their house till after 8. During this time, Radle called. Bayer was having a happy hour at Tiki Bob's. This would not be my first choice, but the point was to see old faces.

We parked across the street and didn't wait in a line. Bayer was already at the bar, and we stopped to say hello. This is were it all began. I can't count how many old friends I saw throughout the entire weekend. It really was a good time. We talked with Mike, Jess, George, and Steve. Later in the night, a bunch of younger Phi Kap guys showed up. I was spent time talking with Radle, Burns, Meehan, Ratigan, and so many others. We had a great time.

As the happy hour ended, we left. Tiki Bob's really isn't fun, and it is expensive. It was back to Manyunk to the Bayou. You can never go wrong there. It was just Mark, Rob, and I for sometime. Later, Gina, Katie, and Anna stopped by for the rest of the night. We closed the place, and Anna suggested Pat's. That is always such a good idea, but always such a bad idea. Before you knew it, Mark was driving us down 76 to South Philly.

The line wasn't that bad, and it wasn't too cold. The worst is waiting in line for over an hour in the freezing cold. I ordered what I always order, "Whiz with, cheese fries, and a Birch Beer." It really is so good, but unnecessary at 3am. After our meal, Mark took the girls back home. Then we found our way back to Manyunk to sleep. Again, Saturday was the big day. We needed to wake up before 11am.
