Celebrating Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest has just concluded. Being of German heritage, I took the opportunity to celebrate the 172nd occurrence of the festival. I celebrated almost the entire weekend! I'll just talk about last Friday for this post.
My boss, Eric, recently resigned. Our development team planned a dinner in his honor for last Friday at Cafe Mozart. I was looking forward to the event all week. The cafe imported Munich Hofbrauhaus Oktoberfest beer for the entire month. A special Oktoberfest menu was also available. I ordered a variety of sausages and meats on a potato pancake. It was so tastey. During our meal, a man was playing traditional german music on a solo acoustic guitar. What a great atmosphere. We had a fantastic time joking and eating. It is sad to see Eric move on to new job.
Later in the evening, I caught up with Sarah in Arlington. We planned on going back into DC with her roomate Josh. Our destination was Local 16. This place is sweet. It has three levels including a roof top bar! Inside, a dj was spinning down tempo and deep house. I throughly enjoyed it. Later on in the evening, Josh gave us a ride to Georgetown. We decided to met up with Gina and Marie at Tony and Joe's on the waterfront. Another cool outside bar. It is situated right on the Potomac near the Kennedy Center. It was so nice to be outside almost the entire evening.
Eventually, I found my way back to Sarah's to sleep. It was a great night spent with a bunch of different people. Again, I am really happy for Eric and wish him the best. Of course, I always have a good time with Sarah, Gina, and others! I give DC a bad rap, but I should explore it more. The only bad part about this night was, I lost my phone. Yep, the baby blue phone is gone after three and half years. I'll have to put up a form for y'all to send me your numbers. Anyway, it was a great start to the Oktoberfest weekend!
