Halloween In Annapolis
The second party for 9 North Homeland was held last Saturday. It was too bad Ritchie could not attend. He was in Germany visiting his Sister. I helped (kind of) Denby cook all the food Friday night. My iTunes was completely organized on Thrusday and hooked up to the main stereo. Everyone was preparing costumes all week. It looked like we were ready for some fun.
Denby and Jason came over first to help lay out the food. On the menu was Pigs-In-A-Blanket, Seven Layer Dip, Crab Dip, and Deviled Eggs. Jason helped me situate the cooler full of beer. People began to arrive after 730pm. Megan added some orange and black chocolate chip cookies to the spread. Everyone else brought some beer. I finally array of beverages included Yuengling, Miller Lite, Corona, and Sam Adams. I hope everyone was satisfied with food and drink!
I am going to attempt to remeber everyone's costumes. Please forgive me if I forget yours. First, I was Jay Kay from Jamiroquai. I had a brightly stripped colored shirt with a fuzzy green hat and large sun glasses. I rule. Denby was a fifties girl that morphed into a cowgirl. Jason was dressed as Jason from Friday The 13th. The best part of his costume was his phone. It played the theme while he walked around the room. Sarah was a girl gone wilded. Matt was a player pimp. Megan was, uh oh, frist one I forgot. Heidi was a flapper. Pete was #^&%@)(#^_!@(@#. Kevin wore all ebay gear. He had on a white tuxedo with a matching cane and cumberbun. Jen was a prom queen from the 80s. Her bangs were so high. Kristen, forgot again. Michelle was also a flapper. Gina was a pirate girl. Everyone looked great!
The party itself was good fun. We stayed in the basement talking and listening to music. Heidi was checking football scores, and we saw DC United beat the MetroStars! After we became bored with the basement, everyone rendezvoused downtown. We tried to get into Griffins, Riordans, and McGarveys. Each place was only allowing one person in after one person left. That would not work with a group of ten or more people. We decided to go to Obriens. It was not crowded, and we went straight to the back. Hot Buttered Elvis was on the stage. They are a really fun cover band. They play some many different types of songs. A crazy thing they do is their wheel of music. They have a girl from the crowd come on stage to spin the wheel. It lands on a category of music like "Hard Rock." Then they would play Rage Against The Machine. They kept the place rocking till 2am.
I was hoping for a nightcap of sorts, but most people were tired. Pete, Heidi, Sarah, and I stayed at my house. Pete played some weird cartoon for us on the TV. I wasn't sure what it was so, I just went to sleep.
I hope everyone had a great time! I had a lot of fun. I would have to say that I wish more people dressed up downtown. I also wish we could have tried out some more bars. No Matter. Everyone in our group was dressed up, and we made the party at Obriens. I think the next party I have at my house will have to be contained. No relying on going downtown toward the end. Hmm, maybe a Christmas Party?
