Restful and Relaxing

Ever come to work on Monday and wish for 24 more hours of sleep? Those Mondays are always so annoying. You ran youf body into the ground over the past three days of freedom. Today is not one of those days. I really made the most of my leisure time this past weekend.

Saturday night, Ritchie and I had dinner with Gina. We planned on eating at Tsunami, but the wait was over two hours. I suggested Sean Donlon's. This place is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the city. We were seated in under five minutes. I ordered corned beef and cabbage with potatoes. They even asked if I wanted mustard! I declined. This is one of the only meals were I mix the food. Normally, I eat one section of the plate at a time. I couldn't even finish the plate, it was so tasty. We finished up the night at the Ram's Head bar. I love sitting directly at the bar. It's always an interesting way to spend a nightout. No nonsense, just drinking and talking. The night ended just after 11pm because; we are all now getting older.

Sunday, I spent part of the day cleaning. Isn't that the fun part about living out on your own? I had to clean the bathroom, my room, the computer room, and the part of the kitchen. After working, I wanted to really play soccer, but there was no on to play with. (i have been itching to play now that i watch so much) I decided to go for a run instead. The temperature was moderate, and lots of people were out and about Downtown. I really enjoy running down there for this reason. I see lots of activity and beautiful scenery to keep my mind occupied.

Late in the afternoon, I ran some errands and found myself over at Denby and Jason's. Denby was cooking for her kids so, Jason and I sat on the couch. The final NASCAR race of the season was being held at Homestead. It was an exciting race that changed from lap to lap. The entire season came down to the last three laps out of a caution. Kurt Busch beat out Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Mark Martin for the first ever Nextel Cup.

Around dinner time, I went home to make some food. While I was eating, I sat in our new upstairs furniture to read. The couch Ritchie purchased from La-Z-Boy is perfect for reading. I have been finishing up Let's Go - Brazil. I also started "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. My trip to Rio begins in 75 days so, I wanted to finish up a few sections in the Let's Go. "A Million Little Pieces" was reccomended by a friend, and is proving to be very interesting. It is the story of a 23 year old addict trying to get clean. It will be crazy if he makes it.

I polished off the weekend with a Charlton vs. Manchester United game. Man. Utd. cleverly handled the game. I was falling asleep on the couch so, I called it a weekend. I was busy, but not too busy. I was able to relax and not rush. I only left Annapolis on Friday night! That isn't like me, but it was a soothing and restful weekend.
