Back At McGarvey's
Yes, it is my favorite bar. This certain Friday, I was clean for entry. Alas, they staff missed my regular dirty self, but it was time to be decent. The evening was all for Jamie! She is Ritchie's new "friend." She came down to Annapolis from Baltimore to see what all the fuss was about. I hope we showed her a good time.
Yesterday, work and I did not get along. I did fine in the morning, I was owning the code. Right around 3pm, I crashed. My brain said, NO WAY. This has to end as soon as possible. I struggled till 5pm, then battled the traffic. I came home, tried to watch a movie, and got smart. Nap time was in order. Denby's voice mail woke me at 7pm. Ritchie was frantically tiding the house. I figured Jamie would be here soon.
I was on the phone when the knock came on the door. I told Ritchie to run down and answer. I know he was excited. They had reservations at Yellowfin. I still have not partaken of this place. How, I do not know. The plan was to met up Downtown later in the evening.
I fiddled on the G5 for a bit, then stopped by Jason and Denby's. Of course, I brought 18 presents for Jason so, we could "play." Denby was really tired and stressed out from School and School. These girls that teach and go to grad school are insane. I can't believe the amount of work they do. I talk about crashing after six hours of work. Apparently, I have no idea.
Ritchie and Jamie came by the house after their meal. Everyone was ready to see what was up Downtown. We wanted to stop in Pusser's, but the crowd was calm and 30 years older then us. The next logical choice? See my title. We found a table in the back room. The conversation started with my toast, "Welcome To Annapolis." She seemed to be enjoying herself, and Ritchie was having a good time. Sweet.
At one point, Denby turned to me and said, "Is that Gina?" I thought she was at O'Brien's. I yelled, "Hey Gina!" She turned around, what a coincidence? We were all here the same time last week. Michelle was even there. Unfortunately, Gina convinced us to have Irish Car Bombs. The night has now begun.
Gina, Michelle, and I broke away from the couple world. I really hope Jamie enjoyed the rest of her evening! Whats next? A place we should also own stock in, O'Briens. This Annapolis thing? It never gets old...
It was just our luck, O'Brien's was not to crowded. Marie joined us. She needs to come over and get her DMB cds! We tried the back, but the band was no fun. We stayed up front, and mingled with their friends from High School. Michelle and I talked about Spain. Is there another country that has so many parts that want to succeed? Hopefully, I'll get enough time to have her help me learn Spanish. Only knowing one language seems so ignorant, but everyone knows English.
It was the start of a much needed weekend. I was really happy for Ritchie and Jamie. I hope she had a fantastic time in our town. Maybe she'll come back down for more. Its always good to chill with Denby and Jason. I'm glad the tired girl made it out for the night. And yes, Gina and I will own O'Brien's as part of our Annapolis Real Estate Empire.
