Local Flavor

Friday, Friday, Friday, I look forward to you all week. This past Friday, was no different. I was tired as I reached home from work. These crazy TV Thursdays done me wrong. No nap this week. I was planning on chilling with Denby and Jason as we awaited Teresa and Gootz's arrival.

Before I ran over to Eastport, Megan stopped by the house to pick up some dishes from the Christmas Party. We took sometime in the front yard to stare at the sunset. It's been blowing up recently. How do I notice? I drive home at sunset now! Yes, the days are getting longer. I can see most of it in my review as I speed down US 50.

I was over at Denby and Jason's before 8pm. They planned to eat at the Rockfish. They have been raving about this establishment since it opened at the old Clipper. I wasn't really in the mood. I have had an itch for Davis' for a few weeks. The crowd was convinced, and we drove down to one of the best local spots in Annapolis.

Seriously, this place is an Annapolis, rather Eastport, institution. Its located on the first floor of an old house off Chester Avenue. If you weren't local, you would not know it. Always great food, fantastic people, and amazing atmosphere. We almost had trouble getting a table, but we saw Denby's parents friends, Reed and Michelle! They were just about to finish dinner, but the five of us got a new table.

Apparently, they eat at Davis' every Friday night. The waiter took very good care of us in their company. I ordered a Cajun Tuna sandwich. It was so tasty. We sat and talked about Michelle's teaching adventures. She works with special children, and it sounds like a rewarding yet tuff job. We also learned Reed use to play professional Baseball! Pretty cool. I also learned of another wedding event. Reed built a sports bar in his basement. We will have a tool time party there. It is a shower for guys. What a good idea!

After the meal, we went back to my house to wait for our friends from the North. Jason and I listened to music while Denby took a nap. I didn't expect the girls to show up till after midnight, but they made it early - around 1130pm. That is a pretty quick drive from northern Jersey. It was so good to see Teresa and Gootz. I am glad they made it down with no trouble. The weather remained calm. We mingled for a bit, and had a few drinks. Not much was done past 1am. We had to get up tomorrow morning. The girls were to go bridesmaid's dress shopping in Georgetown. Jason and I were to met them for a meal and H&M in the late afternoon. I needed some new clothes for Rio!
