Stories. Thats all this is...Stories.
I have been maintaining this here website for over two years. Wow, has it been that long? Yes, yes it has been. In all seriousness, it has been my pleasure. I really enjoying taking my life and putting it up for y'all to see. Thank you for taking the time out of your days to see what is going on...
I just finished this book of short stories from Vietnam. The writer's name is Time O'Brien, and the book is called "The Things They Carried." Thanks for the tip Teresa. Latley, I have been into short stories. During the work week, they are easy to bang out. Back to the lecture at hand, this book hit me pretty hard. War is not a happy topic. There is nothing beautiful about humans harming other humans. It is the lowest form of contact between ourselves. Honestly, I took a step back and questioned a few decisions I have made over the past four months. Enough of the politics, lets get back to my point - Stories. Digest this for a second:
"...And sometimes remembering will lead to a story, which makes it forever. That's what stories are for. Stories are for joining the past to the future. Stories are for those late hours in the night when you can't remember how you got from where you were to where you are. Stories are for eternity, when memory is erased, when there is nothing to remember except the story."
Wow. Right? Memory is a valuable aspect of human nature, but it is flawed like the rest of our characteristics. We can not retain every instance of life. It is not possible. Stories are the medium that carries on a memory. They transform the truth into an idea that is permeable. It infiltrates your mind and finds a place to live. Yes? You can remember that experience in high school that changed your life forever... It is a story that stuck with your conscience for longer then the last order at Wendy's. My point being, I have spent time laying down "stories" for all of us to remember. I like to think, we can look back, and relive the amazing times spent. The times you might have let pass by without a jog of the memory. I am not trying to be a saint. I am just another kid. I just like to share my experiences with others. I really hope you draw as much from this as I do. Stories... I like to hook up stories.

Yes Herczeg...I do read an occasional book here and there but not 5 books in one week like you and your roomates.
Oh ok.....Rio what?
My Aunt works for the Philadelphia Public Library. I just had her search their database and I can confirm that Matt McCartan is in fact a reader. He currently has two books checked out. "The Things They Carried" by Time O'Brien Due 1/18/05 "A Dummies Guide to Getting Jacked for Rio", with a forward by Tony Little OVERDUE: 9-27-04 Wow, who knew?? It appears McCartan is quite the scholar
I have confirmation that Pat Moore also read this book. Or at least pretended to in class
