Jen, Bob, And Maddox Are OK
We all know of the devastation left in the wake of Katrina. We have all seen pictures and wondered how we might survive the situation. For some, we have family and friends that call the Golf Coast home. Personally, I am good friends with a lovely Mississippi couple named Jen and Bob. They were introduced to me through Denby. They called Maryland home for a few years before moving back down South. Their home is located in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. During the storm, many of us tried and failed at contact. Including their baby boy Maddox, we hoped that they were safe and sound. Even yesterday, I could still not get through on the phone or text messaging. Finally, Denby and Jason heard some good news.

Yesterday, I got a phone call from Jason around 5pm. Denby had received and email from Chris, Jen's brother in NYC. He was able to pass along the good news - everyone was safe. Bob, Jen, and Maddox rode out the storm at a friend's house. No flooding had occurred there, and they had plenty of food and water for both adults and baby. This was extremely happy news! Even the rest of their family pulled through the storm unharmed. I am very thankful everyone is unharmed and safe.

Heidi's Immediate Family Are Fine
My friend Heidi is from Louisiana. Pete introduced me to her a few years back. She is a southern transplant into the wonderful City of Baltimore. Many of the places where she grew up have been destroyed. My heart goes out to her in this time of pain. Her immediate family is OK and living in other areas of the country. Please pray for her Aunt and Uncle that reside in New Orleans. We are also worried for friend's of her family. I hope everyone is completely safe!
