Happy Halloween!

I am currently in the middle of some "on-the-fly" dentistry. Take a look for yourself.

scarey
no tooth!

Earlier this fall, a few of my front teeth were moved. I was hit in the face by a soccer ball playing indoor. It turned out that I cracked one tooth, and it became infect. I needed a root canal. My dentist, Dr. Klotz, attempted a root canal, but she was not successful. My tooth was too calcified. The drill could not reach the root. We needed a new plan.

Instead of attempting to dig through my calcified tooth, I opted to have it removed. This procedure was completed last week. In order to keep my smile intact, Dr. Klotz bonded the top half of my tooth to my bottom teeth. It is not possible to insert a fake tooth for a few months. My gums and bone have to heal. Today, I went back for some fillings, and we decided to replace the bonded tooth with a retainer. This would help move the neighboring teeth back into position. Besides, the bonded tooth was moving back and forth. It felt weird eating!

Now here I sit waiting for the retainer to be finished. It is great to be able to ride my bike to the dentist's office. I'd recommend Federal Hill Smiles. Their service has been much better than my past few dentists. Anyway, I'll be able to take out the retainer in the evening. I'll be wearing it until the beginning of next year. This means, I can instantly appear to be missing a tooth until that time. Sweet. I feel like an English Footballer. Should I take the retainer out for games?
