Ticketmaster, I Still Hate You
Ticketmaster is the largest racket in the world. Everyone already knows this fact, but I'd still like to vent. You have to play by its rules or you won't get tickets. If you finally get to a purchase page, you're nailed with fees. For small shows, you sometimes pay the same amount in fees as you did for a ticket. Its just crazy.
This morning, I tried to score some Phish Reunion tickets for Caroline and Aaron. The Hampton Coliseum isn't that close to Long Beach, so I didn't think I would go. That aside, I love trying to buy tickets! You get up early, your heart starts pounding, you sit in front of the computer and crap. Ticketmaster. After loading up three Safari (fast browser) windows, one for each night, I hit reload right at 7am PDT. I couldn't get past the unreadable captchas. I understand the value of these images, but they're so distorted. I finally found my place "in line", but I had to wait 10 minutes. Night two's browser finally loaded!!! I was going to win! NO. "You have too many browser windows open for this event." UMMMM, No I Don't. I have one window open for each night. That is three events and three windows. Horrible! I had to get back into line, and of course, I didn't get any tickets. Ticketmaster, you need to recode this part of your site. It really irks me when a web site performs poorly.
All is not completely lost. I got a ticket fix last night. I finally decided to attend MLS Cup 2008. It is right up the road at the Home Depot Center, so I've been toying with the idea for about a month. The Galaxy aren't going to make the playoffs, but Chivas USA is looking really good. Who knows, maybe it will be a home game for Chivas.
