Monsour Visits The LBC
Earlier in the week, Dave arrived from Florida. He is here for about a week. I’m excited to have my first guest from the East Coast! I’ve been trying to show him around Long Beach. I don’t know my new hometown very well, but I think we’ve been having fun just the same. He is self-employed. During the day, we’ve both been working at home. It has been cool to have a “co-worker” since we have similar professions. Its been awesome to have a familiar face around the house.
The first few days of his visit, we haven’t visited many places. We have eaten out a few times and run some errands. One afternoon, we rode over to Soccer City to pick up CD Chivas USA replica jerseys. We’re headed to an MLS playoff game on Saturday—Real Salt Lake vs. CD Chivas USA. On the way home, we stopped in a coffee and doughnut shop for a snack. I’ve always wanted to stop at this particular shop, because they have a super large doughnut for a sign. It didn’t disappoint, but how can you go wrong with a doughnut and coffee at 2 in the afternoon? Another day, we hit-up In-N-Out Burger. It was my first trip since becoming a California resident. I had a Double-Double Animal Style with fries. I was in a food coma the entire afternoon.
I’ve really enjoyed sharing the workday with another coder. I would never want to trade-in working from home, but it was nice to have a colleague around the house. Dave writes a lot of HTML and CSS, so I was able to help him solve a few problems. He returned the favor with a few of my tasks. Mainly we sat on the couch and coded to FSC, GolTv and UEFA Champions League.
Its been a quiet week, but the weekend is almost hear. I don’t think there is much planned for tonight. I’m really tired from long long work days. I think we’ll head up to 2nd Street for dinner. Tomorrow, we’re headed to the HDC. Sunday, we plan to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers from Legends. Its going to be a full weekend.
